The first drawing shows seven small drawings of rafters, purlins, eaves beams and corbels from the Great Hall. There is then a perspective drawing showing cruck trusses numbers one and two on the west side of the Great Hall, and a perspective drawing showing the end frame in the south-west angle. There is also a plan of the south tower showing the geometrical basis for the design, and a plan of the Great Hall showing the position of the carpenters' marks.
